Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What will you do?
A Private Investigator who is worth his salt will take the time to understand your requirement.
That may sound obvious, but many potential clients may not actually know what it is they want….and that can cost you money!
Many potential clients may well be heartbroken, emotionally drained and unsure of what they want.
If that is where you are, don’t worry, it is not abnormal and we deal with many clients in exactly that position.
Our first priority is client welfare. By that we mean, are you ok, are you safe?
Secondly, by understanding what will you do if we are successful, we can define the requirement and set a plan that will rely on the best intelligence available in order to minimise your cost.
Q: Where do you work?
We cover London and the South East, but we travel to wherever is required.
Q: Does a Private Investigator need to be licensed?
No. There is no legal requirement for a Private Investigator to be licensed.
There are some industry bodies that have been established that set operating standards for their members and encourage certification.
Cressey and Sons is a Certified member of IPI – The Institute of Professional Investigators. We proudly display their logo on our website.
In addition, we are registered with the Information Commissioner.
Q: What can a Private Investigator do for me?
That really depends on your budget and the preciseness of the intelligence that you have.
If the intelligence is vague then it is potentially going to cost you much more than if the intelligence is precise.
Well constructed plans that maximise outcomes for minimum effort, intelligent sequencing of requirements and tasks, and regular feedback will deliver value for money.
Q: Who can hire private investigators?
All sorts! Men, women, companies, rich and poor, locals and those living abroad.
