Surveillance

Surveillance can often be the most appropriate method for gathering information.

Cressey and Sons present any information gathered factually and where appropriate, with evidence.

The two types of surveillance generally undertaken are best described as “Static Surveillance” and “Mobile Surveillance”.

Static Surveillance generally includes hidden cameras and/or listening devices that have been previously fitted into a specific location.

For example, in the home or at a place of employment, in an urban or rural area, where the person or thing under surveillance can reasonably be expected to be located.

Surveillance can last days or weeks depending on what information is being gathered.

The use of a hidden camera at the premises allows you to gather evidence of criminal behaviour such as theft or inappropriate behaviour such as misconduct, infidelity or trespass (fly-tipping, squatting, etc).

Listening techniques include the use of a small device that enables listening to what is happening in real time or recorded for later review. Listening devices are often used for home security as they are covert and easily hidden.

The operation of such devices is unobtrusive with no flashing lights or noise.

Mobile surveillance is one of the most common forms of surveillance and generally requires two investigators to discreetly take photographic, video and/or audio evidence of movements and interactions of a person or thing.

Cressey and Sons use a range of equipment to enable, tracking, phone monitoring, listening and recording as well as gathering photographic and video evidence. Whether it be a corporate or private issue Cressey and Sons can help.

We do not provide private security services such as:

  • CCTV
  • Personal protection (Bodyguards)

Cressey and Sons do have preferred supplier lists for various private security services which are freely available upon request.
